Photo Update

I took the 4 day photos again. As far as looks go, they’re close to the last set with a bit more definition going on pretty much everywhere. I can see it in the triceps, hams, back and abs. It is true, that the closer you get to lean the quicker you see the changes in definition. I still have about 8 lbs (3.5 kg) to go but I think these last 8 lbs will be the most interesting in terms of visual change. My measurements haven’t changed much. I have also done a 3-point caliper measurement on myself and I’m coming in at 14% with it. I’m getting better at using the caliper and getting more consistent results. It’ clear to me at this point that my BF scale is more of a BS scale. The scale is telling me I’m still 20.6% BF but there is no way that it’s even remotely correct.

    I think your 3 point is off. There is no way with your lack of definition you are at 14%. I would estimate closer to 20%. you have too much belly fat and chest fat to be at 14% and you would see more muscle separation in your thighs. Good progress either way.

      Hi Joe,

      While I’d agree with you that I’m not at 14% yet I am pretty certain that I’m not at 20% either. I had a 7 point measurement done 2 weeks ago that came in at 15.4% and since then I have lost 4 lbs. If we assume that it was all fat then I am indeed at 14% as of right now.

      The other funny thing is that the 3-point measurement takes one reading from the chest, one from the abs and one from the quads, especially the areas you think I’m carrying my fat.

      Either way, pictures and the mirror are what I’m going with, the caliper number does not really matter much.
