Strength Exercise

Today’s chest exercise went well. It was pretty easy and simple but I think I have noticed that my arms weren’t level when I did butterflies before. So today I have concentrated on fixing that. My bench press went OK, I have used a wider grip and I could feel my shoulders working harder.

Bench Press

  • 3×10 @ 100 lbs

Butterfly

  • 3×10 @ 70 lbs

    Why is your bench so light? You leg press 270 with reps and you only bench 100 with reps?

    For comparison, I am about your height, 191 lbs, 25% BF. I bench 185X10 for my workout.

    Your bench is out of whack with your other weights. You should up your bench unless you have some sort of injury.

    I can do 25 push-ups at body weight so I should bench press more than 100lbs. I have actually tried to bench press more today and I did 3×10 at 130 lbs. I think the difference is rest time. I’m usually strapped for time at lunch so I rush through it I don’t have 8-10 minutes between sets. Today I only rested 2 minutes and I still managed to do 3×10. I bet if I rested more I could bump the weight even higher. At this point I’m more concerned with muscle retention than building so I’ll just stick with my current plan until I’m ready to build more muscle.
